On this day, the Church commemorates St. Isidore, priest of Scetis. He was known for his gentleness and his care for struggling monks. When others wanted to reject a brother because of repeated falls, St. Isidore would receive him with love, encourage him to repent, and strengthen him through patience and prayer.
He taught that anger destroys the soul, while mercy heals it. Because of his purity and long-suffering, God granted him spiritual gifts and great wisdom.
When asked why demons feared him, he answered that since becoming a monk he had not allowed anger to rule his heart.
This saint teaches us that true spiritual strength is shown through mercy and self-control.
